Fans of ITV's intense police drama Grace had a rather pleasant surprise during Sunday night's episode after they spotted a familiar face from BBC's Doctor Who.
Actor Arthur Darvill previously played the role of Rory Williams in the popular sci-fi drama from 2010 to 2012 alongside Matt Smith who played the role of the Doctor at the time.
Seeing him back on their TV screens, eagle-eyed viewers were quick to point out the star whose character was at the centre of detective Roy Grace's investigation.
Jumping onto Twitter, one viewer said: "Loving the #DoctorWho connections in tonight's #Grace episode, with Arthur Darvill guest-starring in it. Hope we see more former DW actors in future episodes."
Referring to his Doctor Who role, someone else penned: "Rory wouldn't kill anyone, I tell you!"
A third said: "Are you trying to make me believe that Rory Williams is capable of murdering his wife?"
While a fourth added: "The Master interrogates Rory. The Doctor won't be happy."
During Sunday night's drama, actor Arthur played the role of Mr Bishop who was trying his best to convince the police that he was innocent and he did not kill his wife.
But due to his criminal past and his previous treatment towards women, Mr Bishop had a lot of explaining to do.
Arthur left Doctor Who in 2012 and said it was rather emotional reading the last pages of his script.
Talking about his exit at the time, he said: "There were lots of people crying at the read-through. It was great because it does mean so much to all of us, and I think that’s right.
"I don’t think we were being over-emotional about it, it’s a really emotional script."
He added: "I can’t really speak for anyone else but I’m so proud of what we’ve done on this show, and it’s been the best job I’ve ever had."
Following on from his role in the popular BBC show, Arthur went on to star in DC's Legends of Tomorrow and also in ITV's police crime drama Broadchurch.
