ITV Kate Garraway’s Life Stories slammed as fans ‘switch off’ after complaints

Kate Garraway's Life Stories was flooded with complaints as fans confessed they were forced to "switch off" during the latest instalment of the ITV programme.

On Wednesday (August 16), the Good Morning Britain presenter, 56, sat down with actor and comedian Omid Djalili.

The 57-year-old discussed everything from his erratic home life to his rocky time at school, revealing he took his A-levels six times, forged results and was rejected from 16 drama schools.

But as the star opened up about his life, fans didn't hold back from sharing their thoughts, with many claiming Kate didn't get the best out of her celebrity guest.

It led fans to compare Kate to former Life Stories presenter Piers Morgan, who fronted the show for 12 years before stepping down in 2021.

One person wrote: "Garraway was awful in her ability to get the best out of Omid. Piers is a proper journalist. Jeez is this the best ITV have got. #lifestories."

"This Kate Garraway #LifeStories is cringe worthy…," added a second.

Echoing these thoughts, another shared: " Piers Morgan is much better at knowing when not to say anything. KG is too keen to hear herself. I’m not enjoying it as much."

A fourth chipped in: "He is but I hate to admit that I miss Piers Morgan doing this show! Kate Garraway interviewing is zzzzzzzz," as someone else agreed: "[It was] better when piers Morgan did it switched off."

But while many were critical of Kate's interview technique, others jumped to the defence of the broadcaster.

"Nice to be able to watch #LifeStories with Kate Garraway. Before, I had to weigh up if the guest was interesting enough to put up with Piers Morgan," wrote one viewer.

Another penned: "Loving Kate Garraway’s #lifestories".

While a third commented: "Big step up in viewing for launch of 2nd series of #LifeStories with Kate Garraway hosting (previously fronted by Piers Morgan), 2.3million viewers at 9pm on ITV, double last years opener."
