Former Great British Bake Off host Mel Giedroyc reveals she hasn’t watched a single episode of the show since quitting

She admits she hasn't watched the hit show since she and co-presenter Sue Perkins quit when it moved from BBC One to Channel 4 last year, along with judge Mary Berry.

During an appearance on ITV's The Jonathan Ross Show, which will be shown tomorrow night, host Jonathan asks if Mel has been watching the new series and she responds: "No I haven't [watched it]. I feel bad!"

But Mel, 50, also added she had no regrets about quitting Bake Off, having presented the series since it first began on BBC Two in 2010.

Channel 4 snapped up the rights to ratings smash Bake Off last year, in a reported £75million deal with the series makers Love Productions.

But millions of viewers were furious over the move, and the departure of Mel, Sue and Mary.

Many vowed to never watch the show again following the announcement of new presenters Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding, and new judge Prue Leith alongside original judge Paul Hollywood.

But despite the backlash, the series remains as popular as ever on Channel 4.

Since leaving Bake Off, Mel and Sue have reunited to co-present BBC One's Let's Sing and Dance for Comic Relief and the reboot of game show, The Generation Game.

Mel is returning to the stage for her next role, in a West End revival of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's comedy musical, Company.

Originally a hit on Broadway in the 1970s, Company centres around leading lady Bobbi's 35th birthday party, as her friends wonder why she never seems to find the right man and settle down.

The production includes such famous songs as The Ladies Who Lunch, Being Alive and Side By Side and opens at The Gielgud Theatre in London from 26 September.
