Does Busy Philiipps know the ending? Fans of the late night talk show Busy Tonight got a front row seat to the very moment the show’s host realized Coster-Waldau might’ve actually dropped a major spoiler.
“You did say a name to me earlier and it might be real,” Philipps said, referencing an off-camera moment between the two backstage.
“I did,” Coster-Waldau replied. “I was messing with you… maybe.”
The GoT star laughed as it dawned on Philipps that the name the star, who plays Jaime Lannister, revealed could truly be a huge part of the finale. But like the rest of us, she won’t find out for sure until May 19.
The actress, who plays Daenerys Targaryen, told Ryan Seacrest at the 2019 Oscars that fans could expect a lot of jaw-dropping insanity.
“Shock, I think there’s going to be a lot of. … It’s going to be huge, that much everyone needs to know,” said Clarke. “It took us a very long time to film. There’s going to be some things in this last one that are going to shock people.”
Add a few boxes of tissues to your finale watch party checklist because according to Harington, the actor who plays Jon Snow, you’re going to need them.
“I was very shocked and surprised at certain events unfolding,” Harington said on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert about reading the final script. “And then I blubbed my eyes out. I cried. I cried, yeah.”
The actor admitted that he was the last to learn how the entire series ended because he was too lazy to read the scripts. But the upside to Harington’s laziness was that the creators and cast got to experience his unfiltered reactions to the finale.
“I got to the table and they used me as a litmus test,” he told host Colbert. “[Creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss] were looking at me to see how the events unfolded, and they got some pretty good reactions.”
Fans freaked when Turner, who plays Sansa Stark, revealed she’d already told a few people about what happens in the finale, including fiancé Joe Jonas.
It was to be expected; Turner admitted to W Magazine that she’s “so bad at keeping secrets” but is sure the people she told “will keep the secret.” (Jonas had better – he signed an NDA when he visited the set!)
So what did Jonas preview? “I think a lot of fans will be disappointed and a lot of fans will be over the moon, I think,” Turner told IGN. “I think it will be really interesting to see people’s reactions, but for me reading the script it was just like heartbreaking to read at the very final page of the script it just says, ‘End of Game of Thrones.’ That was really emotional.”
On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Williams, who plays Arya Stark, accidently told the entire audience that her character would die in the second episode of the final season. The shocking spoiler was soon revealed to be a part of a cruel April Fool’s joke and the actress has continued to be tight-lipped about what will actually go down. She did, however, tell Sky News that she doesn’t think “anyone is going to be satisfied” by the ending but that she’s “really proud of this final season.”
With so many storylines and plot twists, it seems nearly impossible to wrap them all up neatly in a way that will satisfy all the fans. Wright, who plays Bran Stark, shares that sentiment – but applauds the writers for doing their best.
“It’s going to be difficult to please everyone,” Wright told Metro U.K. “But I think we’ve ended it in the best possible way.”
When asked about the finale, the actress who plays Brienne of Tarth told E! News simply: “You’re going to need therapy.”
She went on to add, “I think it’s going to make me incredibly emotional. We’re all emotional about the fact that this is the end, and this is the end of something incredibly significant for all of us, and it’s been a truly incredible thing to be a part of.”
In an interview, Dinklage seemed to allude to the end of his character Tyrion Lannister’s life.
“I feel very, very — I’m trying to find the right word,” the actor said in an interview with Vulture. “No matter what that is — death can be a great way out.”
Will Tyrion make it to the end alive? Fans will have to wait to see if Dinklage dropped an incredible spoiler – or is just an incredible bluffer.
Gillen, known for his role as the Lord Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, wins for being the most loyal cast member. You’ll never find a leak coming from him because he shreds all of his scripts after he’s done shooting. The genius tip was something he learned to do back when he worked on The Wire as Tommy Carcetti. As for the GoT finale, he doesn’t have a clue as to what’s going to happen and he’s not going to spoil it for himself either.
“I don’t know how it’s going to finish but I am as excited as the rest of us,” he told the Press Association. “I honestly have no idea and friends who I would be in contact with who are still involved, I wouldn’t ask them and they wouldn’t tell me anyway.”
Leslie, who married costar Harington in June, forbade her husband to spoil the finale for her after urging Harington to dish on the end of season seven, only to wish she could take it back. He’s keeping his word – but that doesn’t mean she’s not trying to pry the details out of him.
“She has guessed every single possible outcome bar the one that happens,” Harington joked on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The actress, whose character Ygritte died in season 4, will be tuning into the finale with not even the slightest clue as to what’s about to happen.
“I actually don’t know the ending … It’s such a monumental phenomenal show, and I want to be like the rest of the world and watch it in real time and get that build up and anticipation,” she told EW. “I want to finally come to the final episode and truly – and I honestly mean this – truly not know which way it goes.”
Can you guess who Momoa would want to end up on the Iron Throne during the series finale? His Khaleesi, of course! The actor who played Khal Drogo said he wanted Clarke’s Daenerys character to come out on top, just like Clarke has in real life.
Last month, Clarke wrote an essay for The New Yorker about undergoing two life-saving brain surgeries to correct aneurysm growths and Momoa has been her biggest supporter.
“I’ve kind of been a part of that whole situation for a very long time, so we’ve had so many scares and trying to find the right way to come out and help,” Momoa told Entertainment Tonight. “I just think it’s beautiful that … she’s so brave in helping the world and trying to raise awareness.”
As for Momoa’s wife, actress Lisa Bonet, she’s rooting for Daenerys as well.
