Emmerdale fans can't contain their excitement for surprise engagement

Emmerdale viewers could not contain their excitement tonight as plans for a surprise engagement were revealed.

Charity Dingle and cousin Chas went on a secret shopping trip so they could pick out a ring.

Vanity fans have something to look forward to as Charity is planning on proposing to Vanessa Woodfield.

Gazing at the ring, Charity asked: "You don’t think it’s too subtle?"

Smiling Chas bluntly replied: "Well she’s not grasping and materialistic like you is she."

There plan was nearly ruined when Tracy Metcalfe caught a glimpse of the ring as she walked into the pub.

Charity quickly slammed shut the black box but the damage was already done.

When Tracy started asking questions, Chas said: "Whatever you think you might have seen yore not going to mention to anybody whatsoever."

Charity added: "Not if you want to retain all working use of your limbs."

Tracy was allowed to have a peak at the ring but only if "the cat stays in the bag".

Vanessa’s sister started gushing over the "perfect" engagement ring and wanted to know how Charity was planning to propose.

When told to keep quiet, grinning Tracy said: "It’s going to be so hard because this so exciting. "

Charity will propose to Vanessa in a future episode, which has been teased in the trailer.

Vanessa look stunned – but will she say ‘yes’?

Ecstatic Emmerdale viewers took to Twitter after seeing the ring.

One fan said: "It so cute that Charity has got Vanessa a ring! I always love #Vanity scenes"

"Whose else is totally excited for the upcoming #Vanity Proposal? I know I am," added another.

A third said: "Country might be a state and completely fallen apart but we got a vanity proposal in two days so let’s keep the spirits up"
