Eating with My Ex given a full-length series – which includes a celebrity special

BBC Three’s brilliantly awkward and BAFTA-nominated Eating with My Ex is coming back for a full-length series, meaning there’ll be a lot more questions and answers being served up.

Eating with My Ex reunites former couples over dinner and gives both people a chance to answer three brutally honest questions about where their relationship went wrong. Some people want an apology out of their dinner, some want a reunion and others just want closure.

The original series consisted of 10 short-form episodes (around seven minutes each) and found huge success on BBC Three, iPlayer and social platforms, gaining almost 20 million views. The new episode order is supersizing that, with another order of 10 episodes that have this time been extended to 30 minutes long.

And, on top of that, we’ll even get a celebrity special episode too.

“I’m delighted with the transformation of Eating with My Ex into a long-form commission and the incredible journey it has taken speaks to the flexibility of form that BBC Three affords,” BBC Three Controller Damian Kavanagh said in a statement.

“We’re really excited it has been developed into a 10-part series which I’m sure audiences will love.”

The BBC adds that the majority of Eating with My Ex‘s audience binged the short-form series in one go, and the new, longer episodes will also feature some “exciting new ingredients” to deliver more funny, touching, heart-warming and authentic moments.

“I’m really excited for the long-form version of Eating with My Ex,” Kalpna Patel-Knight, Entertainment Commissioner at the BBC, added.

“It worked as bitesized chunks but you really wanted to hear a bit more. The long-form will give you more insight into the relationship and what their family and friends think. It promises to be heart-warming, explosive and fun.”
