EastEnders writer slaps down 'storyline leak' which has thrown fans into frenzy

EastEnders writer Daran Little has denied claims of a storyline leak after a supposed document, claiming to feature plot lines for next year, surfaced online.

Speculation was rife among fans of the show after a Reddit user shared a picture of an apparent script, which claims to include information from a 2024 episode.

The user also stated that the item in question had been left behind following a story conference for the BBC One soap.

With the image doing the rounds on social media, fans were desperate to know if this leaked document was legit, with users tagging writer Daran Little, hoping he could shed some light on the matter.

Daran, who is one of EastEnders’ most renowned writers, provided fans with the reassurance they needed, responding to one user with: ‘This is not legit.’

Fans were relieved to know that this was the case, with one replying with: ‘thank you’, while another added: ‘knew it’.

It’s the first time in eight years that EastEnders has walked away with the coveted award and, after the last twelve months, it’s safe to say it’s an honour the show has more than earned.

With the secrets of the Knight clan still set to be revealed, not to mention the outcome of a Christmas flashforward plus the return of Cindy Beale, EastEnders is showing no signs of being anything other than brilliant for the remainder of this year into the next so now is the time to start tuning in again if you’re not already.

EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
