The cleaner – who is played by Gillian Wright in the BBC One soap – was tricked into going to watch male strippers at the night club by Shirley Carter.
She thought that she was simply going for a posh coffee with Shirley, who wanted to cheer her up after her relationship with Ian Beale ended.
"I am having fun, lots of fun fun fun," Jean insisted as she shielded her eyes from the hunky naked men.
But instead of leaving with Cherry, Jean stayed in the loud club with the tiny baby.
She was seen battling away a drunk Tina Carter who kept trying to put her drink on top of Cherry's pram.
Jean finally fled when Tina nearly spilled her potent drink all over Cherry, but viewers were furious she was in a nightclub in the first place.
One said: "Who brings a baby to a strip show??"
Another added: "Is that a baby in a f***ing night club? Realism totally escaped."
Realising Jean has gone, Shirley went racing after her to find out what was wrong.
"I just wanted to see you smile," Shirley said as Jean began sobbing in the street.
Refusing to open up to Shirley, Jean told her: "[Cherry] needs me, she's tiny. And then you've got Kat.
"I'm just stressed, all of it. Don't tell anyone about the crying. I promised I'd help Kat and I don't want anyone thinking I'm not coping.
"Promise me you won't tell anyone. You have to promise me Shirley, please?"
Shirley agreed to keep Jean's breakdown a secret but with Jean soon to face a devastating cancer battle will that be a mistake?
