Drag Race’s Baga Chipz eyes up Coronation Street gig as ‘rough guy’ behind bar

Baga Chipz rose to fame on RuPaul's Drag Race UK when she appeared on the very first season of the show.

Since then, she's appeared in multiple TV shows including Ackley Bridge, MasterChef and she'll be taking part in a film starring alongside Tom Hanks' son in the coming months.

But it looks like her TV work isn't going to stop there, with the star hoping to land a spot on ITV's Coronation Street.

Baga Chipz speaking at the shoot of Getting Lippy, presented by Slingo, said to Daily Star: "If I could do any show in the world it would be Coronation Street, I would love to do it.

"They've got a drag queen in EastEnders. I'd be really northern and just come out the car with my heels and take a drag of a cigarette."

They added: "I'd be like the proper rough guy who does drag at night and work behind the bar with my wig on sometimes. I'd love to do that."

She added that there's lots of TV shows that she would love to go on, with "gritty dramas" at the top of her list.

And it seems she's got the skills to join the cast of Corrie, having previously bragged of her "great Deirdre Barlow impression".

When appearing on her season on Drag Race UK in 2019, she said: "I'd actually rather be on Corrie than in Hollywood.

"If Lady Gaga and Madonna were in one corner and Fiz and Tyrone in the other, I'd be with Fiz and Tyrone."

When it comes to reality though, Baga said her top choice would be Strictly Come Dancing and confessed she was once in talks with them.

She also auditioned for Dancing on Ice, but she said she took one step on the ice and walked off.

But could we see her on ITV or BBC? Hopefully both!
