The couple knew each other from school but it wasn't until 2015 that he asked her out and they began dating.
Ed took to his Instagram page in January 2018 and announced to his 18 million followers that he had proposed to his long time love Cherry.
He captioned the snap: “Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx”
The pair apparently got engaged over Christmas 2017.

In February 2018, The Sun exclusively revealed that the pair had got married in secret.
Ed hosted the ceremony at his country estate in Suffolk just before Christmas 2018.
It had previously been reported he wanted to build a wedding chapel on site, but the plans were rejected.

Ed, who has many showbiz friends, banned all celebrities attending his wedding.
A source close to the singer revealed: “It was very quiet – just Ed’s oldest school pals, limited family and the priest.
“There were only 40 people – so no Taylor Swift, record company executives or any royals or pop star pals.
"He wanted no fuss and he wanted it to be something entirely for them – just a tiny winter wedding."
