Coronation Street fans are becoming worried about Stu Carpenter's motives after spoilers confirmed that an element of his past will come back to haunt him.
Some are even certain that Stu could have taken a leaf out of Phill Whittaker's book and be penning a non-fiction tome about abuser Geoff Metcalfe and his death.
It could be the reason Stu is getting closer to Yasmeen both at home and at work.

Actor Bill Fellows told Digital Spy at the British Soap Awards: "I don't think I can say too much, but there's a big storyline about Stu's past and why he was homeless when we first met him.
"It's about why he was in that position and it's a massive thing from his past that comes into play.
"I don't think I can say much more than that!"
And now fans are worried that it could be something sinister, and took to Reddit to share their thoughts.
One eagle-eyed viewer penned: "As long as we don't find out he has been secretly doing research on a book about Geoff to be told from Yasmeen's point of view…"
Another echoed: "I really like Stu so definitely interested to see where he came from, just hope it's from a good place and not lining him up to be another wrong 'un."
Someone else then joked: "You ever realise how weird it feels when characters aren't secret psychopaths?
"I still can't warm to Phill, Stu, and Leo because I'm constantly thinking 'they're going to make them evil aren't they?' The idea of having new characters not being vicious is such a strange concept haha."
A fourth fan went on to guess: "Ah right, so it will come out, Yasmeen will kick him out again and then someone will convince her that 'He's not Geoff!!!'", as another quipped: "There's the twist, he was born Jeff but changed his name to Stuart when he was 16!"
It comes as sneak peek pictures have shown Fiz and Phill all dolled up for their upcoming nuptials, with actress Jennie McAlpine glowing in a white wedding dress.

But the day likely won't go without a hitch, as her ex Tyrone Dobbs is also in attendance.
A show insider said: "Tyrone still has feelings for Fiz and he would love to win her back. Him turning up to the wedding could mean trouble."
Jennie, however, has hinted Fiz could get the happy ending she deserves, telling Daily Star: "The last wedding Fiz had was in prison, with only Chesney and the prison guard as guests.
"So I think it would be lovely for her to have a nice white wedding – and a happy ending."
She added: "Phill is just romantic and kind to her – all the things that Tyrone isn’t, or wasn’t.
"There’s a line in it, which is really sweet, where he lists the things he loves about their relationship."
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8pm on ITV.
