Coronation Street has confirmed a big new shock for Gail Rodwell, as she discovers that her mum Audrey Roberts has reunited with Lewis Archer.
Nigel Havers has once again reprised his role as charming conman Lewis, who reappears on screen this Friday (August 17) with a plan to win over Audrey once and for all.
Lewis’s return storyline sees Audrey (Sue Nicholls) discover that he’s now in prison, as he’s handed himself in over his past scams in an attempt to make amends.
He even sends Gail (Helen Worth) a bank transaction of £40,000 to make up for the money he stole from her in 2013.
Next week, Audrey decides that Lewis deserves yet another chance and spends time with him in secret after he’s released from jail.
Audrey is desperate to make sure that Gail doesn’t find out what’s going on, certain that she wouldn’t approve. Sadly, Audrey’s worst fears are confirmed when her meddling daughter pays a visit to her house and spots Lewis through the window.
A post on Corrie‘s official website confirmed: “In order to spend time with Lewis, Audrey tells Gail that she’s gone away on a cruise.
“But when she finds out that Audrey has lied, Gail goes round to her house to see what’s really going on. How will she react?”
Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
