Coronation Street: Carla Connor fires Stephen Reid
Stephen Reid (played by Todd Boyce) was planning to kill Elaine (Paula Wilcox) when they went to the Peak District by pushing her off a mountain.
However, his plan failed when Elaine found the forged life insurance documents and realised his ex Gabrielle was not dead after all.
Elaine’s son Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) and as a scuffle ensued, Stephen was knocked to the floor and rushed to hospital.
Stephen survived his injuries and Elaine told him the relationship was over and Coronation Street fans picked up on a comment which may have revealed who he will target next.

Others couldn’t believe how Gail and Audrey (Sue Nicholls) hadn’t worked out how evil Stephen is.
@chippytea_ posted: “Not Sarah, Audrey and Gail being so thick about Stephen when they went through the Richard Hillman saga ffs. Is anyone allowed to have intelligence on this show? #Corrie.”
@stephknee added: “All I think about throughout this tedious Stephen plotline is how Gail is going to deal with being married to one serial killer and now the sister of another #corrie.”

Despite fans’ theory Gail will be next, Stephen will turn his attention back to Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) in the coming weeks.
It’s been reported Jenny will begin to worry about the Rovers Return’s finances and Stephen will step in to offer some advice.
Jenny star Sally Ann teased to TV Times: “Jenny is going to have to strap herself in because this summer she’s on an emotional roller coaster!
“Jenny finds herself needing help. Stephen knows how much things mean to her, and he gives her advice with her best interests at heart.”
Stephen previously murdered Jenny’s lover Leo and his father Teddy but Sally Ann thinks the character is oblivious to what he’s capable of.
“She may be the only person he could be honest with,” she added. “I don’t know what the future holds for them but I adore working with Todd [Boyce, who plays Stephen]!”
Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday on ITV at 8pm.
