Bradley Walsh to enjoy special Christmas ‘reunion’ this festive season

TV favourite Bradley Walsh has opened up about his Christmas plans for this year, revealing he’s set to enjoy a special festive ‘reunion’ after 2020’s celebrations were cancelled following the pandemic.

The 61 year old Blankety Blank host explained: “I’m looking forward to spending some quality time with my family and friends hopefully – fingers crossed.”

The dad-of-two continued to say: “We usually like to share Christmas Day with two other families, which we obviously couldn’t do last year due to the restrictions.”

Bradley continued: “This year, we’re planning on celebrating being reunited, which is something I’m extremely grateful for.”

However, despite taking a well-earned break from his busy filming schedule for the Christmas period, Doctor Who star Bradley will still be on our screens.

The Chase host pre-recorded a special festive edition of BBC One’s revived hit game show Blankety Blank, which will air on BBC One on Christmas Day.

The episode will see an all-star line-up, including Mel B, Richard E Grant, Sarah Millican, Angela Rippon and Danny Jones, taking it in turns to fill in the blanks and help win some amazing prizes for the contestants.

And it sounds like Bradley and his VIP guests had a ball filming the show and getting into the Christmas spirit nice and early.

Bradley said: “The panel were glammed up in festive outfits, the set was all decked out and we had a fantastic Christmas tree.”

“Father Christmas also joined us on set, allowing me to arrive in style on the back of his sleigh. All the questions were Christmas-themed and there were some hilarious answers.”

Bradley went on: “Christmas specials are a joy to film – the mood on set is great because everyone is in high spirits.”

He added: "Filming them marks the start of the countdown to Christmas.”

This comes after Bradley recently opened up about his and his son Barney’s close relationship, sweetly stating he was ‘the person I always wanted to be’.

The star reflected on working with his son, saying: “We do [get on well]. He’s a great lad Barney. I’ve said it on many occasions – he’s the person I always wanted to be.”

“He’s got wonderful humility, he’s very sensitive. He takes after his mum, thankfully. He’s much more gentle than I am.”
