BBC Breakfast’s Carol Kirkwood hits back at co-star after dig about ‘looking sad’ on camera | The Sun

CAROL Kirkwood was seen bickering with her BBC Breakfast co-star Sally Nugent during Monday's instalment of the morning show.

The BBC weather presenter was forced to brave the rain as she gave her daily weather forecast from a stunning sunflower field in Alderton.

The beloved Scottish broadcaster was surrounded by giant sunflowers as she told viewers all about what they could expect from the next few days.

Carol was forced to cover up with a pink waterproof coat to ensure she didn't get drenched in the downpour, but it didn't stop her from smiling as usual.

However, the meteorologist clearly wasn't impressed with show host Sally who labelled the sunflowers as "looking sad".

It came right after Carol admitted how much she loved the tall yellow flowers.

It prompted the weather legend to fire back: "How can you say that?"

Earlier in the programme, Sally's co-host Jon Kay made a cheeky dig at Carol after Sally revealed she'd been sent to the rainy field.

Sally said: "We have sent Carol out to the most beautiful location.

"Unfortunately, we didn't quite fix the weather for her."

Jon joked Carol hadn't been doing her job properly as he quipped she hadn't checked the forecast was rainy before heading over to Alderton.

He asked her: "Jon quipped: "Have you checked the forecast, Carol?"

Luckily for Jon, Carol clearly saw the funny side of the joke as she burst out laughing.
