BBC Breakfast’s Ben Boulos was teased by his co-stars and presenters Jon Kay and Nina Warhust who were hosting Monday’s show. The business correspondent was reporting a segment from a high ropes course in the Forest of Dean but the journalist found himself in “jeopardy” when he gave the course a try for himself.

Ben presented the segment while strapped into a harness and making his way across a rope bridge.

The BBC business correspondent joked: “Here’s some jeopardy for you!

“Believe it or not, this is one of the easier, the family-friendly courses.

“Look at that one to my left – goodness knows how you even begin to attempt that course.”

“As you can see, my technique was somewhat shaky so I’m going to keep practising for a little while,” he continued.

“You can either follow and mock if you wish, or take a nice scenic view of our high-up camera just as first light is breaking.

“I’ll leave it up to you whether you want to enjoy the sight of a wobbly Ben at 6:50 this morning – oh dear!”

“I think I’m getting better… that’s dangerous to say that, isn’t it?” Ben commented.

Back in the studio, Jon quipped: “We’re just going to leave you hanging Ben.”

“In every sense,” Nina added before Ben hit back: “It looks easy, but I promise you it’s not. Don’t ask me to come back – that’s it.”

“You promised us it’s not easy,” Nina pointed out. “But that is the family-friendly one though Ben, that presumably five and six-year-olds go on…”

Ben replied: “Look, there’s a zip wire which I’m going to try out. I’m not promising anything, but there is a zip wire – that’s all I’ll say for now.”

“We won’t hold our breath based on that performance, Ben,” she quipped.

“He’s holding his breath, look. If you zoom out he’s actually only two feet off the ground,” Jon joked.

Correcting himself, the BBC Breakfast host said: “He’s not, he’s not. He’s being very brave.

“I couldn’t do that – I absolutely hate heights. Goodness me, I couldn’t stand it.”

However, Nina disagreed with her co-host and revealed: “Would you? Oh, I’d love it! Let’s hope the families who go there do enjoy it.”

Later on in the programme, Nina and Jon introduced a segment on actors forgetting their lines.

Returning to Ben, the business correspondent joked: “I tell you, forgetting your lines isn’t the only scary thing in this world. Being 15 metres up in the treetops is just as daunting.”

BBC Breakfast airs on BBC One daily at 6am.
