AGT's Nightbirde gives 'miracle' update on cancer fight in new interview after admitting she weighs just 85 pounds

AGT'S Nightbirde gave fans an update on her cancer battle after revealing the difficult journey caused weight loss and "disorienting" pain.

The former contestant has been very open about her fight insisting that she's not "giving up."

Nightbirde sat down with Chris Cuomo on CNN on Tuesday evening with a hopeful outlook on her prognosis.

"I wish we would get a fast miracle, but it's happening slow little by little day by day. I'm getting a little better," she revealed.

"I did get a scan result back and a bunch of stuff that was there has now disappeared and a bunch of the really big stuff has gone down in size. We're on the way," the four-time cancer survivor said with a smile.

The show host then asked Nightbirde how she feels since hearing such positive news about her diagnosis.

"It's a lot to process the highest highs and the lowest lows of my life all happening at the same time and all of this playing out in front of millions of people is really – it's a lot to carry.

"But it's also such an honor because the whole world is carrying their own weight and we get to learn how to do this together," she joyfully admitted.

Chris proceeded to ask the talented singer-songwriter if she has thought about the future and is "comfortable to dream," given her scary health battle.

Nightbirde began to chuckle responding: "Yea, I think life sometimes is a game of 'choose your pain' so the pain of continuing or the pain of giving up.

"So, the pain of continuing there is a lot more uncertainty that way, but I think the pain of giving up is so much worse," she added.

The 30-year-old went on to explain one of her many inspiring posts that she wrote on Instagram saying "this is the dream, it's happening now."

"It's funny because I dreamed about singing my entire life and I dreamed about growing up and dazzling the world and being this amazing singer and being so beautiful and confident and brave and all of that.

"I didn't think that it would play out this way. I think a lot of us don't realize that we're in the middle of a dream come true because life is so imperfect and there's so much hard stuff and unfair stuff mixed in, sometimes we don't recognize that our dreams are happening and miracles are happening.

"The miracle that I wanted was that I could skip the pain, that this would go away super fast, or maybe that it wouldn't have happened at all. I didn't get that miracle, not yet.

"But there's a hundred other miracles and if I only take the ones that taste sweet, I won't get any miracles at all, so, I'm grateful for what I have," she concluded.

GRATEFUL

The conversation then flipped to discussing the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday as the star previously revealed the shocking news of how much weight she has lost.

"Every year that I get to gather around the table with people that I love it's such an honor and a gift. I should not be alive right now based on the usual statistics.

"So, every year when this time comes around it's special for the whole family."

The interview continued with Nightbirde opening up about her emotions, after getting another chance at life.

"I think every moment we breathe is a miracle and a gift. Most people don't know what a joy it is to wake up in the morning without pain because they just experienced maybe you know a normal life.

She continued: "But those like me who face death on a day-to-day basis sometimes I think like we're the lucky ones becasue we get to really see the sweetness of life and the miracle is to love and be loved and to dream and to have the chance to at a future.

"I don't know if I'll ever get used to the weight of that. I don't know if it'll ever become casual to me again, just to live."

'PAIN CAN BE A GIFT'

Fans will have an opportunity to hear Nightbirde's voice again as she teased the release of a collection of new songs she's writing.

"I'm so proud of everything that I'm writing right now. Again, pain can be a gift because it really drives you to deep places to dig for gold. Sometimes you got to dig really really deep for gold and that's what I've been doing.

"I'm really proud of the stuff that I've been working on and the voice is getting there," she said, beaming about her progress.

"Today, I actually sang a lot," she happily reported. "And even though it's not up to 100%, I'm just so happy to be singing I cannot stop smiling today."

Nightbirde shared the interview on her Instagram page, receiving a slew of comments from fans, praising her "courage" and "inspiring" words.

One viewer commented: "You are such a beautiful human being. Your words, your attitude, your perseverance, your courage, and your optimism are what makes you a true hero. ❤️"

While a second gave their support writing: "Never turn down a given prayer; someone might need it more tomorrow. Sending all the love to ya. I’ll buy that first album as soon as it hits. ❤️"

The singer has been keeping her followers in the loop on her journey via social media.

EXPECTING 'MIRACLES'

Earlier this month, she posted two photos of herself with her eyes closed as she still wears a small smile.

She also included a lengthy caption, which read: "It’s been a while since I have felt fully awake. Pain can be so surreal and disorienting that I often feel like an observer of my own life, and not a participant of it…"

The star then talked about her "dreams," which included, "singing to the whole world at once," but admits she now has to deal with the reality at hand.

Nightbirde, formally known as Jane Marczewski, wrote: "I thought it would be sparklier than this. I didn’t imagine standing before the world with so many bruises. I didn’t imagine that in my shining moment I’d be suffering in front of an audience…"

She added: "I’ve always expected miracles. I thought the miracle would be that I could skip to the end, spared of pain. I thought the miracle would make me scar-free, brand new."

"I did get a miracle—just not the one I wanted. I get to look for light and find it. I get to see how much love can endure. I get to walk the journey with thousands of people like me, who can’t stop hoping, no matter how hard we try…"

Plenty of people were quick to praise Nightbirde for her powerful words, including America's Got Talent judge Howie Mandel.

He responded: "You are the miracle we all need."

In a previous photo, the vocalist smiled for the camera while holding on to an IV pole, and captured the shot: "Ever seen 85 pounds look so good????"

Nightbirde was given a two percent chance of survival after learning that her cancer had spread to her lungs, spine, and liver.

AGT EXIT

The performer announced her exit from the AGT finals on Instagram in August, saying her health had deteriorated.

She would then reflect on her experience while starring in the talent competition, saying: "It’s so hard for me to not be on the @agt stage for the finals this week.

"I bet you never saw someone win so hard and lose so hard at the same time. This isn’t how the story was supposed to go."

The entertainer became an overnight sensation after her incredible audition with a video of her performance racking up over 30 million views on YouTube.
