Popular holiday destination France scraps ALL Covid restrictions for Brits in summer boost | The Sun

FRANCE has scrapped all of their Covid travel restrictions, in a welcome boost for Brits going on holiday this summer.

Previous rules required proof of vaccination or negative Covid tests if unvaxxed.

However, from today, all emergency Covid measures have been dropped in France.

This means you can visit you are jabbed or unjabbed without restriction – so has returned to pre-pandemic travel rules.

Health passes and face masks are also no longer required.

The French Minister of the Interior and Overseas said in a statement: “Faced with the new phase of the pandemic, the border health control system is lifted, in accordance with the law putting an end to the exceptional regimes created to fight against the epidemic linked to Covid-19."

The Eurostar website has since been updated, stating: “Passengers travelling from the UK will no longer need to present a vaccination, recovery or negative test certificate.

"This applies to all travellers, irrespective of nationality or vaccination status.”

The UK government is yet to change the official advice.

However, the bill allows the return of Covid measures at short notice, such as arrivals over 12 needing Covid tests.

The measure can be brought back until March 2023, if there is cause for concern of new variants or pressure on the country's healthcare system.

Most countries in Europe have scrapped all of their Covid rules.

Greece scrapped all Covid entry rules back in May along with Cyprus.

June saw Egypt ditching the Covid restrictions for tourists, followed by Portugal.

And last month, Malta scrapped all of their Covid entry requirements

Only Spain still requires unvaxxed Brits to take a test and has warned Covid restrictions could be brought back while the Netherlands is yet to welcome tourists who are not fully vaccinated.
