Coronavirus travel advice: Full list of holiday destinations Brits can and can’t travel to – The Sun

HERE is the current advice given by the Foreign Office for the countries we love travelling to.

Only when the FCO advises against all travel or all but essential travel do your rights in terms of travel companies and insurance kick in.

We have also included any restrictions those countries might have put on UK citizens entering – even if the FCO are currently NOT advising against travel or all but essential travel.

A

Australia – Must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival from midnight Sunday (Mar 14). FCO no restrictions to travel.

Austria – No direct air link with the UK from midnight today (Mar 16) as well as no direct rail or air to Spain, France or Switzerland. Ski resorts
closed. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Andorra – No restrictions on travel.

B

Belgium – No restrictions to travel – schools closed, recreational activity limited.

Bulgaria – No restrictions to travel – schools, bars, restaurants, shopping malls closed, sporting and cultural events cancelled, ban on large group gatherings.

Barbados – No restrictions to travel – passengers arriving from China, Iran, Italy and South Korea will be quarantined for 14 days.

C

Canada – Must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. Cruise ships with more than 500 passengers banned from Canadian ports until July. Limited airports receiving international flights for screening of travellers. FCO does NOT advise against travel.

Croatia – Must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. FCO does NOT advise against travel.

Cyprus – The FCO advises against all but essential travel to Cyprus due to restrictions put in place by the Cypriot government in response to the outbreak of coronavirus.

Cape Verde – No restrictions to travel.

Cuba – No restrictions to travel.

China – FCO advise against all travel to Hubei Province and all but essential travel to the rest of China.

Czech Republic – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

D

Denmark – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

Dominican Repubic – No restrictions to travel

E

Egypt – No travel restrictions to Sharm el Sheikh and other Red Sea resorts.

Estonia – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

F

France – restaurants, cafes, cinemas and non-food shops closed, no restriction to travel. FCO no restrictions to travel.

G

Germany – rail and air links to Italy, Switzerland and Austria to be closed, schools, public spaces closed and ban on large gatherings. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Gibraltar – no current restrictions to travel unless you arrive having within two weeks been at a specific list of high risk countries including Italy, China and Iran.

Greece – schools, restaurants, bar, shopping malls and public meeting places closed. FCO no restrictions to travel.

H

Hungary – gatherings of more than 100 people indoors and 500 people outdoors banned. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Hong Kong – 14-day quarantine for anyone who has travelled to France, Germany, Japan or Spain in past 14 days. FCO no restrictions to travel.

I

Iceland – No public gatherings of more than 100 people including tourist attractions and shopping centres. FCO no restrictions to travel.

India – tourist visas suspended, FCO advises against all travel and all but essential travel to specific areas.

Israel – 14-day home quarantine for all arriving visitors, no hotel quarantine allowed. FCO has limited restrictions to travel to certain areas.

Italy – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

Ireland – schools closed, ban on mass gatherings. FCO no restrictions to travel.

J

Jamaica – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

Jordan – Flights in and out of Jordan close at midnight tonight (March 16) – FCO only advising against all but essential travel to within 3km of
Jordan’s border with Syria. Tourists asked to review travel plans and contact insurance provider or tour operator.

Japan – schools closed. FCO no restrictions to travel.

K

Kenya – anyone with respiratory symptoms will be required to self-isolate for 14 days. FCO no restrictions to travel unless to specific areas near Somalian border.

L

Lithuania – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

Luxembourg – schools closed, mass gatherings banned. FCO no restrictions to travel.

M

Maldives – ban on cruise ships. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Malta – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

Mauritius – no entry for anyone who has travelled to China, South Korean, Iran or Italy. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Mexico – FCO no restrictions to travel.

Morocco – air and sea borders closed for number of countries. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Montenegro – schools closed, cruise ships banned, ban on travel to and from area of intense coronavirus transmission including France, Germany, Italy and Spain. FCO no restrictions to travel.

N

Netherlands – gatherings of more than 100 people banned. FCO no restrictions to travel.

New Zealand – Must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Norway – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

P

Poland – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

Portugal – F

Seychelles – cruise ships banned. FCO no restrictions to travel.

South Africa – FCO no restrictions to travel.

Sri Lanka – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

St Lucia – FCO no restrictions to travel.

Sweden – FCO no restrictions to travel.

T

Tunisia – Must self-isolate for 14 days on arrival. FCO no restrictions to travel.

Turkey – FCO advise against all but essential travel to certain high risk areas but currently no restriction on travel to popular tourist
destinations but bans in place for many other European countries are already in place.

Thailand – screening and self-monitoring for 14 days. FCO no restrictions to travel except to certain specific areas.

U

USA – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

UAE – visas suspended from March 17, cruise ships banned. FCO no restrictions to travel.

V

Vietnam – FCO advise against all but essential travel.

Travel has decreased sharply as more and more countries apply tough new restrictions to limit the spread of COVID-19.

TUI has announced that it is suspending hotel stays, package holidays and cruises until further notice.

EasyJet are grounding 100 flights across Europe, warning of "further significant cancellations" while British Airways are cutting 75 per cent of flights in April and May.

Ryanair has also announced that 80 per cent of seat capacity could be cut in April and May, as the pandemic continues to spread across Europe and the airline has not ruled out grounding all flights.
