WhatsApp users will soon benefit from some powerful new voice note features, including the ability to pause voice recordings and listen to all voice messages in one place.
App insiders WABetaInfo report that Facebook is developing a feature that allows you to pause a voice recording as you speak into your phone. This means you won't have to stop and record multiple messages and use up precious data.
A demo video shows a screen capture of a voice message being recorded. After pausing it, a new 'record' button appears that you can tap to resume a recording before sending it over.
On top of that, WhatsApp will reportedly add a 'global voice message player' that lets you listen to all of your voice messages in one place. This will allow you to continue listening to long voice notes even while messaging other people.
There'se no word on when the features will be fully rolled out, but they're definitely happening as users have encountered these on beta development versions of iOS and Android.
Last week WhatsApp went offline for around seven hours along with every other Facebook-owned service.
An issue with their data centres caused a near-global blackout, which led many people to suspect sabotage, rather than a basic error.
