With a cabinet bursting with awards, it’s hard to deny that Sky still rules the roost when it comes to premium telly. Its Sky Q box remains one of the best ways of tuning into your daily dose of entertainment, with it now offering improved voice search, more on-demand content than ever before, plus a swathe of shows, films and sporting events in stunning 4K.

However, like most things in life, the best things don’t come cheap and with Sky recently confirming a rise in its (already pretty substantial) monthly costs for all customers, which could run into an extra £70 a year in telly bills, some customers may be looking for alternative ways of beaming TV into their living rooms.

Right on cue comes a deal from Freesat who have joined forces with TalkTalk to offer a pretty enticing bundle. From now until the end of March, anyone who signs up to select TalkTalk broadband packages will be rewarded with a free Freesat box worth £199. YOU CAN SEE THE DEAL HERE

If you weren’t aware, Freesat connects to any existing satellite dish you might have installed on the walls of your home.

Once plugged in, users then get instant access to over 170 channels without needing to pay a monthly subscription. The Freesat set-top box featured in this deal also lets you record up to four shows at once, pause and rewind live television, and watch content in pin-sharp 4K quality – similar to what you’d be able to experience with Sky Q.

With catch-up services baked in, Freesat viewers can also scroll ‘back in time’ on the programme guide to instantly watch previously-aired shows available from BBC iPlayer, ITV Hub, my5 and more.

This latest deal is available on three TalkTalk 18-month plans which include Fibre 35 – £29.95 per month (average speed of 36Mbps), Fibre 65 £29.95 per month (average speed of 66 Mbps) and Fibre 150 – £32 per month (average speed of 150Mbps).

If you think this offer is for you then all you need to do is head to TalkTalk’s website and place your order.

The broadband firm will then arrange for your broadband plan to be installed. Once your broadband goes live, your brand new Freesat recordable box will follow. When it arrives, simply connect it to your satellite dish and your TalkTalk broadband service and you’re good to go.
