Google is expected to finally reveal its new Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro next week, at its upcoming Made By Google event. This grand unveiling takes place on Thursday, October 6 and ahead of this event in New York City a new leak has claimed that the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will launch at a very competitive price.

According to Android Police founder Artem Russakovskii, these next-generation devices will launch in the USA at the same price as the Pixel 6 range.

Leaks have indicated the Pixel 7 price will be $599 and the Pixel 7 Pro will cost $899, with pre-orders reportedly launching on October 6 ahead of a possible release date of October 13 or October 18.

With the cost of smartphones going up right now due to inflation, if the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro launch at the same price as last year’s devices it could help welcome plenty of new people into the Pixel ecosystem.

The recently released iPhone 14 range is priced from $799 in the US, with the Pixel 7 expected to undercut that price tag by a whopping $200.

But in the UK the iPhone 14 range is priced from £849, with all new Apple devices costing more in 2022 than their predecessors.

In terms of what else to expect from Google’s new flagship smartphones, Russakovskii also tweeted that the Pixel 7 will come in three colours – snow, obsidian and lemongrass, while the Pixel 7 Pro will be available in obsidian, hazel and snow.

He posted on Twitter: “From a source I trust, here comes Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro US pricing, according to current data in Target’s systems.

“First up, Pixel 7, codenamed Panther, $599, available in Snow, Obsidian, and Lemongrass colours.

“Pixel 7 Pro, codenamed Cheetah, will cost $899, available in Obsidian, Hazel, and Snow colours.

“The pre-order date for both phones is currently listed as October 6, which is exactly what we expected.

“The launch date is currently still listed as October 13, but there are rumours that it may be delayed to the 18th floating around.”

The Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro will be appearing at the Made By Google event after being revealed at Google IO earlier this year.

The 2022 flagships have a similar design to the Pixel 6, with the same elevated camera bump on the rear but a more distinct compartment for the lenses.

Other devices expected to be revealed by Google include the firm’s wearable and refreshed tablet.
