The Google Nest Mini is the newest connected home device from Google. Although its naming conventions suggest otherwise, this device is actually a successor to the Google Home Mini that launched way back in 2017.
The Nest Mini retains the same fabric design and adorable doughnut size as its predecessor, but packs a stronger audio punch under its bonnet. Google claims the Nest Mini outputs two-times stronger bass than the original Mini.
Although the speaker certainly won’t be filling your house with audio on its own, the increased power is certainly welcome.
Of course, the Nest Mini comes fitted with the Google Assistant that’s capable of answering a constellation of questions and will act accordingly when you bark commands at it.
If its audio quality you’re concerned about, then the Google Home Max is the obvious choice. The device comes fitted with dual 4.5-inch woofers and a custom tweeter array that are easily capable of blasting a room with loud, but crisp, audio.
Then there’s the Google Nest Hub and Nest Hub Max. Both are smart displays that are able to display contextual information alongside their traditional Google Assistant functionality.
In a nutshell, that means if you ask for a weather forecast you’ll be able to see an outline of the week’s weather at a glance with high and low temperatures provided for each day.
As the name suggests, the Nest Hub Max is the larger of the two devices and also comes with a front-facing Nest Cam that can be used to monitor your home when you’re out and about.
