Galaxy S9 rival – Samsung budget phone released at a price you can’t ignore

The Galaxy S9 may have received some big discounts in recent weeks but Samsung fans wanting a phone on a cheaper budget now have some very good options.

The Korean technology firm announced its new mid-range devices last month and now they have finally gone on sale across the world.

These new smartphones include the Galaxy A40 and A50 but perhaps the pick of the bunch is the new Galaxy A70.

This phone packs some impressive specs inside its shell including a huge 6.7-inch Super AMOLED edge-to-edge screen with a 20:9 display ratio.

Spin the phone around and you’ll be treated to a triple rear camera which offers the option to shoot images with an Ultra Wide lens and there’s the usual depth effect settings.

Samsung is also boasting that A70 includes its Scene Optimiser that can recognise and intuitively enhance up to 20 scenes.

Other extras include an embedded fingerprint scanner under the screen and there’s a monstrous 4,500mAh battery which should easily offer all-day performance.

The A70 arrives in four distinctive colours including Coral, Blue, Black and White each will also get the prism effect that reveals gradient colours depending on light direction and reflections.

If you want to buy this phone SIM-free it will cost you £369 but now that it’s officially on sale some mobile retailers have announced contract pricing.

Speaking about the launch of the A70, Conor Pierce, Corporate Vice President, Samsung UK and Ireland said: “Today’s consumers are using their phones in a more visually active and authentic way – sharing their experiences and staying connected longer.

“These connections can only thrive when the most essential features allow people to enhance interactions through spontaneous, collaborative, and genuine connection. This requires an evolution. Which is why, to meet the needs of this emerging generation, we created the new Galaxy A70 – designed for the way people are connecting now.”
