Facebook users around the UK are currently reporting problems with the social network’s pages not loading properly for some.
WhatsApp and Instagram – which are also run by Facebook – appear to be having problems as well.
People started reporting problems to the website DownDetector at around 12.20pm on Tuesday, July 28.
The main locations that appear to be affected are London, Birmingham and Manchester.
Instagram and WhatsApp services appear less severely disrupted but users are still reporting problems.
Over half of affected users posting on DownDetector said they experience a total blackout when trying to load Facebook.
Metro.co.uk has tried accessing all services and, for us at least, there doesn’t appear to be a problem.
However, others have taken to Twitter to state otherwise.
The main issues appear to be located in mainland Europe, specifically Spain and Portugal, which are suffering a much more severe outage.
None of the services run by Facebook have officially acknowledged any problems, so it’s likely this is just a hiccup at the moment.
We’re probably not looking at anything malicious, such as what befell the GPS navigation company Garmin over the last few days.
