WWE star Kevin Owens reveals he planned to jump off PIRATE SHIP at WrestleMania 36 in Rollins match before it was axed – The Sun

WWE star Kevin Owens revealed that he planned to jump off a PIRATE SHIP at WrestleMania 36 in his match against Seth Rollins.

The Prizefighter was set to face the Monday Night Messiah in front of a packed Raymond James Stadium in Tampa before the Showcase of the Immortals was moved behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Despite the Show of Shows taking place at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando, Owens left fans stunned by leaping off the WrestleMania sign to elbow drop Rollins through an announce table to pick up the win.

The 35-year-old later admitted that a big jump was always part of the plan as he planned to fling himself off the pirate ship at the Raymond James Stadium.

He tweeted: "True story: I went to a show there in January.

"As soon as I saw it, I told myself no matter what I was doing at Mania, I’d find a way to jump off that thing. I even took pics of it to figure out the best way to go about it.

"It didn’t work out but I found the next best thing!"

One fan made a joke by referencing the Canadian's 'Fight Owens Fight' slogan by replying: "Jump Owens Jump."

Another said: "I have a feeling your wife wasn't too upset you didn't get to jump off the ship aha."

A third added: "Thanks for keeping us entertained! World needs it right now."

This year's WrestleMania was filmed behind closed doors and at the WWE Performance Center due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It was due to be hosted in Tampa Bay, Florida, in front of a packed-out 70,000-plus crowd, but was axed last month.

Earlier last night, Braun Strowman won the Universal Championship off Goldberg and Elias beat King Corbin.

While SunSport revealed behind the scenes of the Undertaker's epic Boneyard match against AJ Styles that took EIGHT hours to film.
