Sonny Bill Williams in tears as the Muslim and All Black pays emotional tribute to New Zealand terror victims

SONNY BILL WILLIAMS has posted an emotional tribute to the victims of the Christchurch terror attack.

Rugby superstar Williams was left stunned after 49 people were killed when a gunman stormed two mosques in the New Zealand city early this morning.

The attack by white supremacist Brenton Tarrant has shocked the country and led to huge soul-searching among the usually tight-knit community.

And Williams, the first Muslim to play for New Zealand, looked shattered as he posted a video club to offer his support and sympathy.

The 33-year-old admitted he was struggling to find the words to comprehend what he was thinking.

He said: "Just sending my duas (prayers) and Mashallah (god willing) – everyone that's been killed today in Christchurch… your families.

"Just sending my duas to your loved ones and Mashallah you guys are all in paradise.

"I'm just deeply, deeply saddened that this would happen in New Zealand."

Rugby is the national sport of New Zealand and plays a huge role in the way of life in the country.

The All Blacks were quick to pay their own tribute as the country struggled to take in the magnitude of the atrocity.

Christchurch, we stand with you during this time. Our thoughts and sympathies are with everyone affected by today's tragedy. Stay strong. Kia Kaha. ?
