Paul Pogba's amazing gesture to Juventus fans at end of Manchester United's shock comeback victory

The former Juve star slowly went round the Allianz Stadium clapping the home faithful, in a show of mutual respect with supporters who once idolised him.

In utter contrast, Utd chief Mourinho had responded  to victory by cupping his hand to his ears, taunting those same fans, before clashing with Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci.

Pogba, though, was even restrained when he watched United's 89th minute winner from just a matter of inches away.

The French World Cup winner was in the six-yard box jostling away when Bonucci and Alex Sandro both got unwitting touches to the ball as it crossed the line.

Bonucci was eventually credited with the own goal, leaving United celebrating a win that leaves them second in Champions League Group F – behind Juventus.

Pogba, however, took instant time off as he removed his shirt to walk, then jog, around a ground where he enjoyed his greatest seasons in club football so far to salute Juve fans.

And as he reflected on United's triumph he acknowledged the warm reception he was given by the usually-partisan home supporters.

Pogba, 25, said: "Lovely game. We won which is most important and the fans here were very welcoming with me and I really appreciate that.

"We played against a big team with good players but the most important thing was the win.

"Its what we have been doing for almost a few weeks now and that’s playing well together and we did it until the end.

"We did very well. The game is always 90 minutes and we needed an extra breath or extra bit of power and we pushed it and we scored."

United legend Cristiano Ronaldo had volleyed Juventus ahead with exquisite technique midway through the second period after the Old Lady had twice hit the woodwork.

But United changed all that in the final four minutes as they peaked their first sustained assault with two goals.

Juan Mata curled home a 20-yard free-kick inside the near top corner.

Then Bonucci bundled a dangerous cross past his own keeper Wojciech Szczesny to end Juve's unbeaten start to the season.
