Paul Pogba will ditch Man Utd for Juventus if they do not get Champions League football

The France World Cup winner has only recently started to justify the £89million transfer fee the Old Trafford club paid to re-sign him in 2016.

Despite reports suggesting he is ready to sign a new contract with United, Juve news site ilBiancoNero.com understand the 25-year-old is on the brink of leaving the club again.

They add that the Old Lady's No 1 priority in the upcoming summer transfer window is to bring Pogba back to the Allianz Stadium.

He departed Manchester for Turin in 2012 and spent four seasons in Italy, scooping eight major honours including four Serie A titles.

A return to England alongside Jose Mourinho was meant to usher in a new era at United – but the Frenchman has largely underwhelmed.

Only recently, since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was installed as interim boss following Mourinho's dismissal, has Pogba displayed the type of form many would expect.

In Solskjaer's eight games in charge, he has netted six goals, the latest coming in the mid-week 2-2 draw with Burnley.

But despite this return to form Pogba appears ready to abandon the 20-time English league champions.

United will start Sunday's Premier League trip to Leicester City sixth in the Premier League, with Chelsea and Arsenal still ahead of them in the race for the top four.

Juventus have already begun planning for next season and expect to complete the signing of Aaron Ramsey on a free when his contract expires at Arsenal in July.

Lyon's Tanguy Ndombele,22, is seen a future leader of the midfielder, but the club face having to match his £70million valuation.

Liverpool target Sandro Tonali of Brescia is also being tracked by the Bianconeri, a player compared with AC Milan legend Gennaro Gattuso.

The pursuit of Cagliari midfielder Nicolo Barella has been halted, however.
