Ozil and Ramsey left out of Arsenal squad for Europa League trip to BATE Borisov

The Gunners are travelling to Belarus for a Europa League tie but the duo are not in the squad.

Ozil returned to training this week after missing the win over Huddersfield through illness.

While Ramsey – who recently confirmed he will join Juventus this summer – is dealing with a knee injury, with Sokratis another notable absentee.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has handed Unai Emery a boost, however, after recovering from his own illness to make the cut.

The Gunners chief said: "We are here with the players who I think are OK to play.

"The players not in the squad is because Ramsey has not trained with us, Sokratis has started to train but not enough, Mesut is the same.

"Aubameyang started Monday and I think he is okay for the match."

Arsenal are sixth in the league and in serious danger of missing out on the top four after struggling for form.

But the Europa League is another possible route into the Champions League, which Arsenal have failed to make for two seasons.
