NEYMAR admits that he was surprised by just how 'spectacular' Marco Verratti was when he joined Paris Saint-Germain.
The pair linked up in 2017 when the Brazilian ditched Barcelona for the City of Love.
Neymar, 30, had spent four years playing alongside superstar midfielders in Catalonia, but he puts Verratti up alongside two of them.
Quoted by the Champions League social platforms, he said: "I knew Verratti was an excellent player, but I didn't realise he was so spectacular.
"A genius. He's one of the best midfielders I've played with, along with Xavi Hernandez and Iniesta."
Neymar enjoyed the best success of his career alongside Xavi and Iniesta when he won the Champions League in 2015.
That season he also picked up LaLiga and Copa del Rey winners' medals, before Xavi packed his bags for Al-Sadd.
Interestingly, it seems that he holds current team-mate Verratti ahead of Sergio Busquets.

The Spaniard is synonymous with Xavi and Iniesta as part of one of the most decorated midfield trios in the history of the sport.
But the 33-year-old was not mentioned by Neymar.
Verratti helped his side to an important 1-0 victory over Real Madrid last night.
The 29-year-old was typically industrious in the engine room, while also playing clever passes.
Neymar, meanwhile, returned from injury from the substitutes' bench – assisting match-winner Kylian Mbappe with a stoppage time backheel.
After his stunning late goal, Mbappe admitted that his future is yet to be determined.
The two sides will meet again at the Bernabeu on March 9.
