Man Utd news: Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino slashed to 6/4 to manage Red Devils on first day of next season

The Tottenham boss has refused to rule himself out of the running to be the Red Devils' next permanent boss.

United have announced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as their interim boss until the end of the current campaign.

This allows the chiefs at Old Trafford to access the structure of the club and plot a move for their next permanent manager.

Pochettino is the favourite to be the next United boss and is reportedly the club's top target.

Meanwhile Zinedine Zidane is the second favourite at 3/1.

But there's a chance Solskjaer could impress and cling on to the job on a long-term basis and he is 6/1 to still be in charge at the start of next season.

Zinedine Zidane 3/1

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 6/1

Antonio Conte 8/1

Diego Simeone 14/1

Eddie Howe 14/1

Massimiliano Allegri 14/1

Laurent Blanc 14/1

Leonardo Jardim 16/1

Betfair's Katie Baylis said: "With Solskjaer now confirmed as caretaker, attention can turn to who will take over permanently and Spurs fans are not going to be happy with the odds.

"Pochettino is the big 6/4 favourite to be manager on the first day of next season ahead of Zidane who had been favourite for a while with Gunnar Solskjaer himself only a 6/1 shot to stay at Old Trafford.

"While Poch has been linked to Real Madrid this season, United looks to be a good option for him and could be a place he could really make a charge for trophies, given the right personnel.”
