Man Utd fans will LOVE our new brand of football under Erik ten Hag, says keeper David de Gea after a week of pre-season | The Sun

DAVID DE GEA is confident that Manchester United fans will "love" the style of play that new boss Erik ten Hag is implementing at the club.

The Red Devils endured one of their worst ever Premier League campaigns last season, so club officials acquired the services of Ten Hag in a bid to turn things around.

The Dutchman appears to have made an instant impact, already executing a more intense training regime to prepare his players for the upcoming season.

And according to De Gea, the improvements have made the players "excited" about the future of the club.

When speaking to MUTV, the goalkeeper said: "I think we are all very excited for the new season, for the new manager.

"He plays a very good [type of] football so for sure the fans will love it."

Man Utd are still yet to make any new signings since Ten Hag's arrival.

They have been trying to seal a deal for top target Frenkie de Jong, but it could be difficult to lure him away from Barcelona.

The Red Devils have already reached an initial £56million deal plus add-ons with the Spanish giants, however, De Jong has reportedly informed both clubs that he wants to stay put.

Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia is said to be edging closer to a £15m move to Old Trafford as Ten Hag and his staff look to bolster United's defence.
