Major upset in battle for Smackdown Women’s Championship at Hell in a Cell

Becky Lynch picked up one of the biggest wins of her career to upset Charlotte Flair and claim the Smackdown Women’s title at WWE Hell in a Cell.

The Irish Lass Kicker had been on the warpath against her former best pal ever since Flair, according to Lynch, stole the gold from under her nose in a triple threat match against Carmella at Summerslam.

Sporting a new attitude and a bitter resentment toward the Queen, Lynch vowed to gain a measure of revenge and duly delivered in San Antonio, Texas, with a pinfall victory that left Flair visibly shocked.

The pair had looked to be set for the long haul in their match at Hell in a Cell as Lynch bedded in, working over her rival’s shoulder as the two went back and forth.

But just as things started to pick up a notch in terms of pace, Lynch looked to have the affair sewn up as she locked in the DisArmHer submission hold – only for Flair to escape.

The 32-year-old daughter of Hall of Famer Ric Flair then looked to turn the tables by charging at Lynch for a spear, only for the challenger to catch her unawares and score a three-count to the sheer delight of much of the live crowd.

Lynch soaked in her win and, in a telling sign that this rivalry is far from over, refused to shake hands with her former pal as Flair extended her hand after the bell, instead turning and walking away with her new prize.
