Lukaku hands Man Utd huge boost ahead of Barcelona clash after private clinic treatment on foot injury

ROMELU LUKAKU has given Manchester United a massive Champions League fitness boost.

The 25-year-old will miss Saturday’s clash against Watford with the foot injury that crocked him for Belgium duty in the international break.

But he returned to England today after treatment at a private clinic in Antwerp and could make the midweek clash against Wolves.

Lukaku is targeting a comeback next week, with United facing Wolves on Tuesday, to get himself match-fit to face Barcelona the following week.

He wants game-time before facing Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti in the Champions League quarter-final on April 10.

SunSport revealed two weeks ago that Lukaku had suffered a muscle injury on his foot and faced a spell on the sidelines.

The ex-Chelsea striker picked up the problem during the European win over Paris Saint-Germain when he scored two goals during United’s incredible comeback.

He needed treatment to his right ankle after a challenge from Marquinhos just before the hour mark – and it was not clear how long he would face out.

But having him back within days of the return after the international break is a massive boost for newly confirmed United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Scans showed a muscle problem instead of damage to a metatarsal, allowing Lukaku to get target a return after a week of rest.
