Klopp says Solskjaer has been ‘lucky’ at Man Utd but has ‘no doubt’ he will land job full-time

Klopp goes head-to-head with Solskjaer on Sunday as Liverpool look to go back to the top of the table with a win at Old Trafford.

After a shocking start to the season which resulted in Jose Mourinho’s dismissal following a 3-1 loss at Anfield in December, Solskjaer has brought the feel-good factor back to the club.

The Norwegian has lost just one of his 13 matches as interim manager.

And despite talk of Mauricio Pochettino still on United’s radar, Klopp reckons the Norwegian deserves a crack at the gig beyond the end of the current campaign.

Looking ahead to Sunday’s clash, Klopp said: "We all needed luck in our managerial careers. When I went from Mainz to Dortmund people said I had no international experience, it was true.

“Normally you would not make a move from Norway to Manchester United. That is clear. But he’s shown his qualities.

“He has the quality and the luck in the right moment.

"Now he’s in charge and there is no doubt he will be the manager next year as well. That is clear.

“Can you imagine if they brought in a new manager? He deserves that 100 per cent.”

Liverpool's first win at Old Trafford since 2014 will take them back to the top of the table ahead of Manchester City, who face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final later on Sunday.
