Irish fans of British folk rock group Mumford & Sons are in luck as they are coming back to the capital this summer.
The band will play Malahide Castle on Friday, June 14, as part of a stellar line-up at the northside venue across the month.
They will be joined by a number of support acts on the night, including up and coming Irish band Wild Youth, Dublin singer Dermot Kennedy and Nor-
wegian act Aurora.
The announcement comes only a few months after the band played a sold-out show in Dublin’s 3Arena last
November to coincide with the release of their fourth album, Delta.
Mumford & Sons will return to the live stage as part of their Gentlemen of the Road Takeover in Ireland and the UK this summer.
Before their Dublin gig, they will headline a show at London’s Victoria Park on Saturday, June 1.
The group, whose hit tracks include Lion Man and I Will Wait, are no strangers to
Ireland. They kicked off their 60-date Delta world tour in Dublin last November 16 – the day their new album launched, featuring released singles Guiding Light and If I Say.
The band played to a huge crowed in June 2017 as one of the main headline acts at the Longitude Festival in Dublin’s Marlay Park. They had previously played the Phoenix Park in July 2013.
The group are among a number of hit names performing at Malahide Castle this summer, with Noel Gallagher (inset left) taking to the stage two days later on Sunday, June 16.
It will come a week after Snow Patrol play at the venue on Friday, June 7, followed the next day by The Cure.
George Ezra will play the venue on Friday, June 21, followed by US songstress Lana Del Rey on June 22.
The group – made up of lead singer Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, Winston Marshall and Ted Dwane – formed in 2007.
In 2009 they founded Gentlemen of the Road, a live promotions company, record label and organiser of the global series of Stopover Festivals.
Tickets to see Mumford & Sons, costing €69.75 including booking fee, go on sale next Friday, March 1, at 9am.
