Jose Mourinho's bitter La Liga feud with Pep Guardiola uncovered in explosive Barcelona documentary

SunSport today showcases the trailer for the Take the Ball, Pass the Ball doc, which charts the meteoric rise of Barcelona as a world football superpower under chief Guardiola.

The film covers the three titles and two Champions Leagues won under the now Man City boss between 2008 and 2012.

Interestingly it promises to show what top Barca players felt in the dressing room about the then Real Madrid chief Mourinho.

In the trailer, former Barcelona midfielder Xavi discusses the enmity that existed between Guardiola and Mourinho as they clashed several times in El Clasico matches.

Mourinho famously poked Barcelona assistant Tito Vilanova in the eye during an infamous Spanish Super Cup tie in August 2011.

Xavi, 38, said: “Mourinho was provocative that even people at Barca wanted a reaction from Guardiola. It still gives me goosebumps.”

The documentary includes interviews with club’s record scorer Lionel Messi, who says “it isn’t easy to play for Barca”.

The Argentine No10 said: “It all started a very long time ago during (Johan) Cruyff's spell at the club. It’s a unique philosophy.”

The new Monaco boss Thierry Henry won the 2009 Champions League under Guardiola. He said: “If you tell me you love football and you don't love Barcelona, you have a problem.”

The doc also covers the emotion of Eric Abidal’s fight back from cancer to lift the Champions League and how Messi was almost rejected by Barca as a 13-year-old.

Those interviewed include Andres Iniesta, Dani Alves, Gerard Pique, Victor Valdés, Carles Puyol, Eidur Gudjohnsen, Javier Mascherano, Sergio Busquets and Samuel Eto’o.

Gudjohnsen, the former Chelsea striker, said: “Once we got that first victory, there was no stopping us. After Guardiola came that’s where you really learned how to play the Barcelona way.”

Take the Ball Pass the Ball will be available in OurScreen cinemas from November 9 and then DVD and Digital Download from November 12
