Inside Manchester United's dressing room after Chelsea draw as Jose Mourinho picks out two stars for special praise

The United boss gave a rousing speech to his squad despite the last-gasp Blues equaliser moments early, SunSport has been told.

It is understood the 55-year-old was delighted with his teams performance and wants it to be the benchmark for the rest of the season.

Minutes earlier he had been involved in a touchline bust-up with Chelsea coach Marco Ianni, which saw him warned by the FA.

But Mourinho was calm inside the United dressing room and kept his stars back to heap praise on them, especially to Martial and Lindelof.

The pair have had a tough time over the past year and have been criticised for a number of poor performances.

But 24-year-old Lindelof was excellent at the heart of the Red Devils' defence and Martial, 22, led from the front with a goal.

An Old Trafford insider said: “Jose was very calm after the bust-up and told them this was the team which got us second last season, playing like that.

“He was very animated towards Martial and Lindelof, praising them for all their good work throughout the game.

“He said there was no reason they still couldn't repeat last season's finish playing like that and was delighted.”

Lindelof went on to have a similar stand-out game against Juventus in their Champions League 1-0 home loss on Tuesday.

He was outstanding at the heart of defence, as the Red Devils struggled to break down the Serie A giants.
