Injury blow for unlucky Western Bulldog midfielder

Unlucky Western Bulldogs midfielder Lin Jong will be sidelined for at least the next two months after he tore his hamstring during match simulation at Whitten Oval.

The injury is ill-timed for the 25-year-old who has struggled with shoulder injuries in recent seasons and famously missed the club's 2016 premiership with a broken collarbone.

After being sent for scans on Thursday, the club revealed Jong had suffered a high hamstring tear and was likely to miss the next 8-10 weeks.

Jong has managed just 61 games since making his debut in 2012 and is renowned for his hard-at-it approach.

Bulldogs' defender Buku Khamis also suffered a PCL injury at training and will be sidelined for six to eight weeks. Khamis is in his first season with the club.

The Bulldogs are still waiting to see how long running defender Jason Johannisen may be missing for as he has been in a moonboot for the past week since hurting his ankle at training in early February.
