Harry Redknapp jokes he will take Peter Crouch into I'm A Celebrity jungle as 'Niko Kranjcar can't make it'

The 71-year-old will be taking part in the hit ITV show I'm a Celebrity next month as he joins a star-studded cast in Australia.

And the ex-QPR gaffer has joked to BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey that Crouch will join him in the jungle, because Kranjcar "can't make it".

Redknapp famously signed the Croatian midfielder three times – first bringing him to Portsmouth – before taking him to Spurs and the Hoops.

Upon hearing the news that Redknapp was heading Down Under, Humphrey instantly messaged the former West Ham boss.

He said: "The jungle!!?! Are you taking your entire backroom staff and Niko Kranjcar?

To which Redknapp hilariously quipped: "Hi Jake no Nico (sic) can't make it so I'm taking Crouchie.

"Look forward to seeing you I'm doing the Bournemouth Man United game cheers Harry."

Crouch played under Redknapp three times in his career, at Southampton, Portsmouth and Tottenham.

While he also sold the towering striker to Aston Villa just days after being appointed as Pompey boss in his first spell in charge at Fratton Park in 2002.

Needless to say, fans immediately saw the funny side, with one person tweeting: "What a time to be alive."

While another simply stated: "No Kranjcar, but Crouch at least."

Redknapp has been out of a job since being sacked by Birmingham last year following a run of five consecutive Championship defeats.
