Dele Alli injury fears after Spurs ace taken off after clash with Jordan Pickford

The midfield ace was clattered by Jordan Pickford during the first half at Goodison Park and was left clutching his right hamstring.

And Mauricio Pochettino clearly feels Alli could be in trouble by deciding to take him off during the half-time break.

The England international was playing a terrific match up until that point, having got on the scoresheet at Goodison.

But replacement Erik Lamela proved equally as reliable as Tottenham fired five past their hosts.

It means Pochettino's men are just two points behind Manchester City and six off leaders Liverpool.

And after failing to sign a single player in the summer, there could now be some January reinforcements for the unlikely title challengers.

But their most important deal could be to tie boss Pochettino down to a fresh contract.

The Argentine is being lined up to take charge at Manchester United next summer.

And Spurs will be hoping to end the season with a trophy in order to convince him to stay put.
