Conor McGregor cancels UFC 229 after-party following ‘credible threats’ to his safety in wake of Khabib Nurmagomedov brawl

The Irishman's defeat against Khabib Nurmagomedov ended in ugly scenes both inside and outside the Octagon.

Notorious, 30, was due to head to the Encore Beach Club in Las Vegas afterwards.

But The Blast claims sources from the venue told them McGregor's camp called staff shortly after his loss to pull the plug.

Their report adds that "credible threats" to the fighter's safety were blamed for the cancellation.

Khabib, 30, forced McGregor to tap out with a rear-naked choke in the fourth round of a contest he dominated.

And when quizzed about his decision to climb out of the Octagon and attack McGregor's team, he pointed to the abuse he received in the build-up.

Khabib explained: "First of all I want to say sorry to Nevada Athletic Commission and second to Vegas. I know this is not my best side. I'm a human being.

"But I don't understand how people can talk about how I jump on the cage.

"He talked about my religion, he talked about my country, he talked about my father.

"He came to Brooklyn and he broke bus, he almost killed a couple of people. What about this s***?"

McGregor has called for a re-match following his defeat, while UFC chief Dana White must decide how to acct on the incident.
