Conor McGregor begs UFC supremo Dana White to stage Dublin superfight at Croke Park

The 30-year-old has been speaking to the media ahead of his £34.4million bout and was quizzed by the Irish media over his desire to fight in the capital.

McGregor's eyes lit up when he was asked about a proposed fight at the 90,000-capacity ground.

One of the biggest hurdles is that UFC overwhelmingly caters towards the American pay-per-view market and there is a residential curfew in place around Croke Park.

He said: "I said the other day: Where is the Dublin fight?

"I know the situation with Croke Park Stadium, I know we want to do big, big, big.

"But I tell you what, I'd fight in the Ringside on South Circular road where I made my boxing debut and my MMA debut also in the ringside.

"It's a pub and it fits about 50 people.

"But you've got to ask Dana and these guys because I certainly must fight in Ireland before I call it a day."

Khabib stormed off the stage minutes before McGregor made it to the press conference.

Conor gloated: "The traffic was a little heavy. He knows what to expect I've been late before, I've been later than this.

"That's a sign he doesn't want to be around me, he doesn't want to be around these people, he's petrified.

"I plan on knocking that man's nose right into the nose bleeds."
