Colin Kaepernick doesn’t have a job in football, almost certainly because of his decision to kneel during the playing of the national anthem to bring attention to the issues of police brutality and racial inequality.
The first player to join him in that protest, Eric Reid, was also mysteriously out of work until earlier this week when he signed with Carolina. On Sunday he started at safety for the Panthers and continued with his protest (he hadn’t said publicly what he planned to do prior to the game but did say he would move forward with a collusion grievance against the NFL).
Kaepernick tweeted out his support a short time later.
