Bookmakers slash odds on Jose Mourinho completing incredible free signing

Bookmakers have sensationally slashed odds on John Terry to join Manchester United .

The former England captain is a free agent after he left Aston Villa earlier this summer.

Terry, 37, has been tipped to rejoin the Championship club now that they have found a solution to their previous financial problems.

The iconic defender has not retired from football and is expected to join a new club soon.

Sporting Lisbon have been linked but it is understood to be unlikely, despite Terry having a holiday home in Portugal.

But bookmakers Ladbrokes have slashed the price on Terry joining Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford to 10/1.

Villa are the favourites for Terry’s signature but Ladbrokes spokesman Alex Apati said: "He’s no stranger to a reunion, so we’re not yet ruling out a sensational move from Mourinho for his former Chelsea skipper."

Terry was linked with a reunion with his former Chelsea boss last season – which failed to materialise.

Given Terry’s hero status at Stamford Bridge and his love for the Blues, it is unlikely he would move to Manchester any time soon.
