Alex Ovechkin applauds Carey Price after goalie robbed him of hat trick

Washington Capitals superstar Alex Ovechkin bested Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price twice on Monday night, but it was the goal that Ovechkin didn't score that will have people talking.

In the waning moments of the third period, with the score tied 4-4, Ovechkin had a chance to get the hat trick and win the game in regulation.

He was absolutely robbed by Price, the highest-paid goaltender in the NHL, who made a ludicrous save. 

After watching what seemed like a sure goal not end up in the back of the net, Ovechkin could only tip his cap to the goalie. He gave Price a round of applause, and then dapped him up.
