Time travelling Ukrainian solved after ‘cloned’ bloke believed he was from 1932

A time travelling Ukrainian claim has been solved after a "cloned" bloke believed he was born in the year 1932.

The infamous story surrounding Sergei Ponomarenko rattled on as he claimed to be from 90 years in the past, but despite his sudden appearance, his tale has been solved.

The bloke appeared in Kyiv, Ukraine around 2006 and from there claimed to be from the 1930s, carrying with him an old-fashioned camera and a passport displaying his birth year as 1932.

Mr Ponomarenko looked rather young to be a man from an era of the Great Depression and World War 1 fallout, and it proved too good to be true for the wannabe time traveller.

His story has since been debunked, with Sergei found with a camera which developed pictures taken in the 1950s, including one image which he claims is of a UFO.

Even after his wild, out-of-this world claim, it would appear some were still convinced by Sergei, as a man of the same name and build had been reported missing in 1958.

Tracking down the man's girlfriend from when he disappeared he coughed up a woman in her 70s, the same woman featured in the photographs held in the camera in Sergei's possession.

But a YouTuber has since debunked the apparent time traveller's claims, which all link to an image initially believed to have been from 2050.

Said image, which showed Sergei as an older man, could have been "cloned" as it, according to YouTuber Joe Scott, may show the Empire State Building also.

He claims the images on the passport and beyond were actually taken from a documentary shown on Ukrainian TV named Aliens.

The show however has a number of inaccuracies, with the YouTuber busting the time travel myth and showcasing the series of images ripped from the Ukrainian TV documentary.

It appears the "most convincing time traveller", as Joe described him, is not as convincing as he once was.
