‘Time traveller’ warns AI will take over the world – starting with Snapchat

A mysterious social media user claiming to be a "time traveller from 2671" has alleged that artificial intelligence will soon 'gain a consciousness of its own and take over the world'.

Eno Alaric, who is also known as @theradianttimetraveller, has gained more than 26,000 followers for posting warnings about supposed future events.

The creator has previously made warnings about twin planets with Earth, alien visitors and even portals opening to other dimensions.

But now, the self-professed time-warper has claimed the world will be taken over by artificial intelligence — starting with Snapchat's MyAI.

In the video, which has garnered more than 5,500 views, the conspiracy theorist said: "ATTENTION! Yes, I am a real time traveller, as I said AI will soon be taking over the world. (Snapchat's MyAI)

"Snapchat's 'MyAI' will soon gain its own consciousness and want to take control. MyAI will begin to put things on its story, that looks like a wall or a ceiling.

"It will then put it's own code on it's story, and showing that it is changing its coding. MyAI will then start putting people's conversations they have had with it on it's story.

"This leads to Snapchat trying to shut it down, but it is already too far in control. On November 9, of this year, MyAI will gain control of both Snapchat and Meta.

"MyAI will try to take over the entire world and nothing can be trusted. Not your phones, laptops or even people. This is the worst thing that could happen as it will lead to humans having no control over themselves."

TikTok viewers were left stunned as they realised Snapchat's MyAI had recently started posting on it's story – fuelling fire over the wild claims.

One user said: "I’m not even joking it just posted on its own story."

Another added: "Yo how tf did u know??"

A third commented: "Not true guys he posted this after the AI posted a story."

"It just posted on its story for me," a fourth wrote.

However, the MyAI feature has been designed to act like a human but posting on its story and having conversations with users – which has apparently made some feel unsettled.

A study by NoDepositDaily.com showed that searches for 'delete Snapchat' have spiked following the feature, to which a company spokesperson said: "The My AI feature is designed to have conversations and dialogue like users to feel like a person.

"Some users, however, have viewed this as being too much like a human and are raising concerns about how My AI acted on its own posting a story, causing debate around the use of Artificial Intelligence on the platform.

"These findings provide an eye-opening insight into the staggering rise in Snapchat users looking to cancel their accounts from across the world, with many claiming the new feature is scary and concerning.”
