Study finds people would give up sex for a stress-free day

Everyone feels stressed from time-to-time – but how far would you go for a stress-free day?

A recent poll of 2,000 people has revealed that one in 10 Americans can’t remember the last time they had a stress-free day.

Meanwhile, three in four would do 'nearly anything' to have a single day without the mental strain.

Around 26 percent of respondents would give up sex if it meant having a stressless day, while 28 percent would pass on an entire paycheque.

The study, commissioned by Noom and conducted by OnePoll, aimed to shine light on the impact of stress as part of World Mental Health Day on October 10.

In the UK, one in 14 adults (7 percent) feel stressed every single day, while 74 percent of people feel so stressed they have been overwhelmed or unable to cope, according to the Mental Health Foundation.

The unpleasant emotion can suppress the immune system, upset your digestive and reproductive systems, increase the risk of heart attack and stroke, and speed up the ageing process.

It can also make us feel anxious and irritable, and even lower our self-esteem.
